Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation's Spring 2016 Ramble Announced
The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation's Spring Ramble and Annual Meeting will be held in Marietta, Kennesaw and Acworth, April 22-24. The Trust is traveling north along the tracks of the historic Great Kennesaw Route, and event will offer visitors a rare opportunity to explore private historic homes, buildings and gardens that are not usually open to the public
History enthusiasts will be charmed by exquisite houses and downtown properties in Marietta, Kennesaw and Acworth. On Friday, 'Ramblers' can explore some of Marietta and Kennesaw's finest historic homes including Ellwood, once home to many prominent military, political, and business figures, including renowned wartime journalist Pete Wellington Alexander and the Trammell House, home of decorated Confederate army captain and state senator Newt Trammell.
