Griffin Choral Arts & Monroe Crossing Concert
World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass
Event tags: Griffin Choral Arts, Griffin United Methodist Church, Dr. Stephen J. Mulder, Monroe Crossing
A bluegrass band at Carnegie Hall? And in a chorus concert in Griffin?
This not-to-be-missed opportunity will happen on October 16, when nationally-acclaimed bluegrass band Monroe Crossing joins forces with Griffin Choral Arts. Each group will perform by itself, but then will combine to perform “The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass,” a work commissioned in 2007 for Monroe Crossing and performed three times since then in Carnegie Hall.
The concert will take place at the First United Methodist Church in Griffin (1401 Maple Drive), starting at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $15 and will be available at the door, as well as in advance in Griffin at Artistic Flowers and Gifts and Safehouse Coffee Roasters, in Barnesville at Goggans Florist, in Zebulon at A Novel Experience bookstore, and in Thomaston at the TUAC Gallery.
