Griffin Choral Arts Chamber Choir Performs at High Museum
"Make a Joyful Noise: Renaissance Art and Music in Florence Cathedral
The Chamber Choir of Griffin Choral Arts has been selected to sing at the High Museum (1280 Peachtree Street NE) in Atlanta on Saturday, January 3. Outstanding Metro-Atlanta a cappella groups will perform as part of the museum’s current exhibit “Make a Joyful Noise: Renaissance Art and Music in Florence Cathedral.”
The Griffin Choral Arts Chamber Chorus was established the past summer by GCA’s Artistic Director, Dr. Stephen J. Mulder, for a premiere performance given on July 20 at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Griffin. The group consists of eighteen singers chosen from the GCA membership.
Selections will include unaccompanied Renaissance motets and modern art songs.
The performance will take place at 3 p.m. in the “Make a Joyful Noise” exhibit area, Wieland Pavilion, Second Floor. Admission to the museum is required. More information is available at the High Museum website: www.High.org.
