Bill Mauldin Georgia Distilling Company building nearing completion.

http://www.GeorgiaDistilling.com

Well friends, after 8 months of government red tape and protesting Baptists, we are nearing completion on our production facility in Jackson. The tower you see in front will house our main production still, which will be solid copper and look good at night when lit up with spotlights. The front will also have a wrap around porch to give the building that "Cracker Barrel" feel for touris

foodie Crock Pot Ribs

I just want to go on the record and let you know that BBQ in the Crockpot is definitely ridiculously delicious and easy. These beef short ribs had nothing but a home-made dry rub, a little liquid smoke and a nice stay in the slow cooker. Th

Hartley Soap Co Blue Daisies and the power of Mom

Growing up we had a swimming pool and to this day I think my father hated it. I guess because there was allot of up keep on it, and it didn't help when us kids would go fishing bring the fish home and through them in the pool, just to see how long they would live, But that's another story.

Anywho,

One year my dad decided that the pool needed to be emptied for some repair work and painting......Now my dad was not the type that liked to play around when it came

Kennesaw Taylor Boats

Boats
Kennesaw
The two happiest days of a boat owners life are the day he buys one and the day he sells it. They also say a boat is a hole in the water you throw money in. How about this one? Boat stands for, bust out another thousand.
I love boats and have always owned one. Like my old trucks, I can’t afford a new one, so I must horse trade for them and fix them up. For most of my life I’ve owned a boat that didn’t run when I got it, sucked my extra cash and still didn’t run whe… Continue

Jessica Williamson Gregory Jury Doody

Jury Doody: Day 2

Waking up at 8:36 to be at the courthouse at 9 a.m. because we got little to no sleep due to our air conditioning running constantly but not cooling the house below 80 degrees. This makes for a miserable night in the Gregory household. It was so hot yesterday in the holding cell and miserably hot in bed last night that I decided to wear the least amount of clothes possible – shorts, tank top and cardigan – very preppy college chic. (This is relevant later.)

Fawne Big Ol' Tree Mural, Completed!

I think I work best when I'm given a simple idea and the creative freedom to do what I want. The client knew she wanted a big tree and had X amount of money, and I worked within her budget to give her a pretty scene to share with her preschool students. It's a bit of a win-win situation: she wants a mural & I've been wanting to paint a mural for months now. The last big mural I did was back in high school, ten years ago! (I've painted sets for a few plays over the years, so I guess those cou… Continue

Kennesaw Taylor This should mix it up, get some comments.

Painting Love Kennesaw I’ve been asked how a man can write about love. In fact I’ve been asked this question many times in the last month. I think that it’s wrong to assume only women can write about love, so here’s my answer. No one writes about love, they paint it in words. They take out their palate, their brushes and all the colors of the rainbow and then they bare their heart. That first love comes out in earthy shades and as it pours from the heart it flows through the brush to paint the… Continue

Kennesaw Taylor A good day to be a Bulldog.

I lived out on the West Coast when I was younger. Have you ever seen a sunset out there? I've always dreamed of watching the sunrise on the East Coast and then watch it set on the west in the same day. If you're like me you'll need to win the lottery to make it happen. However I was in Florida

I was driving home from work the other day and I could just make out several tiny yellow specks out of the corner of my eye. The flashes came from the bushes along side the road and I instantly knew what they were. Lightning bugs. It

Lynn Hubbard Lightning Bugs Part II By Lynn Hubbard www.lynnhubbard.com

My Grandmother lived in the country and there were no street lights. When the sun went down it got dark, REALLY dark. The only lights you could see were the back porch light, the stars and the tiny miniature flashlights floating through the night.

If you have never caught lightning bugs it is harder than it looks. It takes skill. Just kidding! They actually fly fairly low to the ground
